“A chain is only as strong as its weakest link” It is clearly a literal fact that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. The conversion of that notion into a figurative phrase was established in the language by the 18th century. Thomas Reid’s Essays on the Intellectual Powers of Man, 1786, included the following: “In every chain of reasoning, the evidence of the last conclusion can be no greater than that of the weakest link of the chain, whatever may be the strength of the rest.”

“A church is only as strong as its weakest ministry” There are seven key ministries needed within the Church which we have identified as the key links to successful outreach and church growth. A church may have more than seven ministries in its organizational structure, but without the seven key ministries in place and linked together it is almost impossible for a church to be a Great Commission Church within its community.”When any single one of these key seven ministry links becomes weak or broken it will be impossible to pull in the same direction needed for a church to grow, whatever may be the strength of the rest”.
